How to Dress for Fall with Big Boobs
Can you feel the crisp autumn chill in the air?
The start of fall is tomorrow and the cooler weather is coming!
It’s pumpkin spice season (don’t hate) and time to start layering to keep warm.
But what do you wear when you have big boobs?
You want to be warm but still look cute.
Nobody is confident feeling like you are wearing a potato sack (except Marilyn Monroe of course). Meanwhile, the rest of us feel like crap!
We’ve all been there with the top that is the right size but is tight across your breasts. Instead, you get one size bigger and the shirt fits your breasts but now you are wearing a tarp.
It’s very disheartening.
Unless you plan on dressing up as a sheet ghost for Halloween, here are some tips for flattering your figure this fall.
Accentuate Your Waist
My biggest tip is to wear something that cinches at the waist.
Again, you don’t want to look like you are wearing a sheet. Many tops flow off the boobs making you appear fatter.
My boyfriend was very confused about why all my work blouses had this effect. He said, “Women’s fashion is so weird.” He’s right! In many instances it is weird, but more on unrealistic body ideals in another post.
I would just tuck in my blouses and that would pretty much solve that problem.
If you have a dress that looks baggy or boxy on you, cinch it in with a belt.
Show Off Your Figure
I am modest so I don’t like to have a lot revealing.
I know many of you relate that having bigger boobs can easily send the wrong message even when you aren’t trying to show them off.
Regardless, the truth is the more you cover up, the bulkier you will look.
Choose swooping necklines or v-necks to emphasize your décolletage. Nothing too low so there isn’t cleavage.
You can pair this top with a scarf to keep you more covered up and to keep you warmer.
The higher your neckline is the bigger your bosoms will look. Avoid turtlenecks as they will stretch across your breasts and make you look constricted.
Choose fabrics that cling more to your body.
This doesn’t mean that the top is necessarily tight but it has a drape that will hug your body.
Layer Your Clothing
Minimize your bust by adding layers.
Layering clothing will add multiple areas of interest to your wardrobe producing a distraction from your breasts.
Wearing longer cardigans will give a streamlined look to your body. Avoid chunkier knits as they will make you look broader and go for thinner materials with a nice drape.
Also, avoid details around your bust such as a wide lapel or pockets that will draw attention to your breasts.
My favorite cardigan is cinched in the back creating a flattering shape for my body.
Wear Darker Colors on Top
Save the prints and lighter colors for the bottom half of your body to draw the eye downwards instead of only seeing boobs.
Wearing darker colors will subdue the appearance of having bigger breasts.
If you are wearing a dress with a print make sure that it is a large, high-density print to camouflage the look of your chest by distracting the eye.
Balance Your Silhouette
Create the illusion of having wider hips to balance out your large chest.
Peplum tops are your best friend!
Wear a dress that will flare at the bottom such as an A-line shape or fit and flare.
The other tips will also help to accentuate visual symmetry in your outfit.
Wear the Correct Bra Size
Wearing the correct bra is so underrated for style tips. However, wearing an improperly fitting bra is the biggest faux pas.
A properly fitting bra will help your posture and lift your breasts making you look taller and slimmer.
In order to correct mistakes you are making with clothing, you have to start with what’s underneath.
No outfit is going to look right if you aren’t wearing the correct bra size.
Be Confident
Rock whatever you are wearing because if you aren’t comfortable everyone will know it.
Ultimately, you need to be happy with yourself.
When in doubt try it on. If you like it and you are happy that is all that matters. You will know if something looks good on your body.
I hope these tips helped with assembling the best fall wardrobe.
XOXO,
Stephanie
