Bra Vocabulary

I have found it…the holy grail of all dresses to go braless in.

You heard me right, I said BRALESS!

Now, I know what you are thinking, “That’s impossible!”

I thought so too until I figured out a few tricks for making it achievable. The secret is that it is all about finding the right dress or top.

For too long, I was stifled by my well-endowed chest. NO LONGER will I be plagued by not being able to wear cute clothing.

What is this magical dress that allowed me to free my titties from their entrapment?

It’s the Free People 100 Degree Mini Dress.

I don’t remember how I first came across this dress, but I remember thinking it was pretty and reading some of the reviews. All of the reviews had a very common complaint: that the top portion was too big.

What?! That never happens.

I have a free people store local to me and I remember looking at clothes and wishing they would fit. It never occurred to me that I could wear some of their pieces.

I was still skeptical about this dress because of its backlessness, but I took a chance anyway.

The moment I put it on, I was ecstatic. I felt so pretty and feminine. It was crazy to think that I COULD pull off going braless.

It’s a great dress for twirling in.

I immediately ordered another one and haven’t looked back.

I doubt I will have this luck with other dresses so I wanted to share my success.

Everything You Need to Know

This dress is part of Free People’s Endless Summer Collection.

Being made of sheer, gauzy cotton makes it perfect for the summer heat. The trim is made of 72% cotton and 28% nylon.

The reason that I was able to go braless was because the dress ties around the neck and back. It’s like a halter bikini that fits bigger breasts!

I have come to learn that a lot of Free People’s garments run big. The measurements for a size small include a cup width of 8” and the length from the center of the busts is 19”.

For reference, I am 5’2” and have a breast size of 32FF (UK)/32H (US). This is D5 or 8”. I ordered a size small. In other words, if you are bigger than me this dress might not work for you.

However, I imagine that the cup size correlates to the overall size of the dress.

Inexpensive Free People 100 Degree Dress Dupe

Let’s face it, Free People can be expensive. If there’s something that I really want. I shop the sales.

Usually, my stuff comes from the Final Cut section of Macy’s, Marshalls, TJMaxx, Poshmark, or from thrifting (my personal favorite and where I buy most of my clothes nowadays).

However, I found an identical dupe here. The fit is very similar meaning it runs big just like Free People (not Asian sizing).

The quality is really comparable as well.

 Accessories

Need an extra boost? Try these Reusable Silicone Breast Lift Nipple Covers.

Don’t want your nipples to show? Try these pasties.

Use these Wardrobe Tape Strips to secure fabric. These are also great when there’s a gap between buttons.

Gaffers tape is ideal for creating a “bra” when you have a backless or low cut top.

These accessories are lifesavers when it comes to going braless.

In the end, going braless is all about your confidence.
